2012-2013 Welcome Letter

The 2012-2013 school year is right around the corner, and we are excited to kick off the start of a new year at Lumen Charter High School.  The Lumen staff members have been planning all summer and want you to be aware of some important details.

We are anticipating being awarded another $175,000 implementation grant that covers staff training, supplies, technology, furniture, etc.

The Lumen hallway has been expanded to include room 183 to further enhance our learning environment.

We would like to welcome our newest Science teacher, Mr. Jesse Schwingle, to the school. He is a recent UW-Stevens Point graduate and will be a welcome addition to our staff.

This year’s Open House will be held Wednesday, August 29. The RHS portion will run 4:30-6:00 pm, and the Lumen portion 5:15-6:00 pm. The formal Lumen presentation will be held in room 181.

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4.  Freshman report for morning Link Crew activities at 7:50.  All Lumen students will report to room 181 at 11:50.  Any student who has classes in RHS, needs to see those teachers between 10:45-11:15 or after school to get any information that you will miss as you will be spending the whole afternoon in Lumen on the first day for team building activities.

If you have any questions about your schedule, please contact the guidance office as soon as possible.

Please have the following school supplies for the start of the school year.

Alyse Zabel Fun Run

During the first year of Lumen Charter High, students Adele Parks and Kirstin Arbogast spent many hours planning and organizing a fun run in honor of Alyse Zabel. The event had games, snacks, a one mile run, a 5K run, and a 10K run/walk. It was held July 7th at the high school track with the courses throughout the town. They had approximately 75 runners and many helpful volunteers. With this event completed, they are on their way to organizing a second AZ Fun Run for this upcoming October.
