Lumen Showcase

Our Lumen Showcase was a success. Students shared their immigration stories and speeches, performed a mock trial, gave Youth Apprenticeship presentations, hosted an art show, and shared what they have learned in Reading Workshop, Prinicples of Engineering and Technology Education to name a few highlights from the evening. Here are some photos.

Lumen Update

Wow! It’s hard to believe we are over a month into the school year. Students have been busy with seminar and genius hour projects, Principles of Engineering interviews, reading lots of interesting topics in Independent Literature, getting to know each other, creating a social contract during team building time and participating in the homecoming festivities.

Here are some photos of the fun!

Seminar Update

As part of the 4th quarter seminars students are studying the Holocaust. Last week, we had the privilege of having Jeffrey Gingold, author of “Tunnel, Smuggle, Collect: A Holocaust Boy”, sharing with us the story of a seven year old boy, Sam, Gingold’s father squeeze through the tunnels and trade goods in a Warsaw Ghetto to survive.
